NBA: Denver Nuggets Crowned Champions after defeating Heat

Denver, CO — It's finally over. The Denver Nuggets are crowned as they won their first NBA championship Monday night, defeating the Miami Heat 94-89 at Ball Arena in Denver to take Game 5. Nuggets coach Michael Malone hailed Nikola Jokić, who is rapidly establishing himself as one of basketball’s best-ever centers, as “a great person.”

“He’s a great husband, father and son and brother,” Malone told reporters. “And on the basketball court he has proven time and time again that he’s the best player in the NBA. He’s our MVP, we love him and we’re thankful that he’s wearing a Nuggets’ uniform.”

Great may be an understatement when describing Jokić. Nicknamed Joker,  the two-time MVP led the way for the Nuggets with a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds. There's no shock as the big man was crowned 2023 NBA Finals MVP and added several more titles. Check out his resume below!
